Quick answer
In the Facebook app: Menu (top left) > Options > Go to Meta Account > Meta Verified, choose your profile, then Single profile subscription (or Two-profile subscription) > Pay now. Then turn on two-factor authentication, confirm or edit your name and picture, and upload photos of the front and back of a government photo ID. You can start on a computer, but you must finish in the Facebook app. Complete everything within 3 days, or Meta cancels the subscription (and you’re eligible for a refund). Meta says it sends an update within 3 business days.
Does this match what you see?

- You paid on a computer but verification isn’t finished.
- Your subscription was canceled before you were verified.
- You can’t change your name or profile details.
- You’re stuck on the two-factor or ID step.

This guide covers Meta Verified for creators on a Facebook profile. Meta Verified for businesses has its own Help Center. Plans, prices and availability vary by region, app and account. You may see Accounts Center instead of Meta Account.
Why this happens: the possible causes
Start with the line that matches what you see.
| What you see | Possible cause | Do this |
|---|---|---|
| No option to subscribe | A requirement isn’t met (age, country, profile, activity or recent changes) | Eligibility |
| Paid on a computer, not verified | You still need to finish in the app | Finish in the app |
| Subscription canceled before verification | Verification wasn’t completed within 3 days | Before you start |
| Can’t edit your name or username | Your application is in review | While in review |
| Badge needs re-verifying | You changed your name or picture after being verified | Name and picture |
- Verification left unfinishedPossible
Meta says that if you don’t complete the verification process within 3 days, your subscription is canceled and you’re eligible for a refund.
- Started on a computer onlyPossible
Meta says you can start on a computer but need to finish subscribing in the Facebook mobile app.
- Profile edits during reviewPossible
Meta says that while your application is in review, you may not be able to update your profile name, username, category, location or date of birth.
Try these 60-second checks first
- Check Meta’s eligibility rules: 18+, an available country, an eligible profile with Advanced Protection on.
- Have a government photo ID ready (front and back).
- Be ready to turn on two-factor authentication.
- Finish everything within 3 days.
Before you subscribe
- Eligibility: you need to be 18 or older (or the age of majority), in a country where Meta Verified is available, with an eligible profile that has Advanced Protection on: see Fix 1. Plans, benefits and availability vary by region, app and account.
- Finish within 3 days. Meta says that if you don’t complete verification within 3 days, your subscription is canceled and you’re eligible for a refund.
- Security: you’ll turn on two-factor authentication. Meta’s overview also says Advanced Protection must be enabled and can’t be turned off once your subscription is active.
- ID: you’ll photograph the front and back of a government-issued photo ID.
- Profile edits are limited during review, and changing your name or picture after you’re verified may mean verifying again.
- Be truthful. Meta says false or misleading information can stop your profile being verified, remove your verified status or lead to other action.
- It renews automatically until you cancel. See how to cancel Meta Verified.
How to fix it, step by step
Work through these in order. They start with the quickest, safest checks and only move to steps that sign you out or remove data later.
- Fix 1: Can’t subscribe? Check Meta’s eligibility rules
- Fix 2: Subscribe in the Facebook app (Meta’s steps)
- Fix 3: Started on a computer? Finish in the Facebook app
- Fix 4: Two-factor, name and picture, and your ID
- Fix 5: In review? Wait for Meta’s update
- Fix 6: Add your Instagram (or Facebook) as a second profile
Fix 1: Can’t subscribe? Check Meta’s eligibility rules
Meta lists requirements for you and for the profile you want to verify. If any one isn’t met, you can’t buy the subscription. Meta says the requirements may change.
- Age: you must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live.
- Country: you must be in a country where Meta Verified is available.
- Profile type: a Facebook personal or professional creator profile. It may need a profile picture and name that meet Meta’s Meta Verified naming standards (external site, opens in a new tab).
- Security: turn on Advanced Protection for the profile.
- Activity: the profile needs to meet Meta’s minimum activity requirements (Meta’s page doesn’t say what they are).
- Recent changes: Meta says you can’t exceed a limit on how often you’ve changed your profile in a certain period before applying, for example your name, profile picture, username, location or profile type. If you’ve just made several changes, wait before applying.
- ID and rules: have a government-issued photo ID, and follow Facebook’s Terms of Service and Community Standards.
Verifying two profiles? They must be in the same Meta Account (one Facebook, one Instagram), and both may need similar names and pictures. Instagram has its own profile rules: see Meta’s eligibility page (external site, opens in a new tab).
Did it work? You meet each requirement and the subscription option appears.

Fix 2: Subscribe in the Facebook app (Meta’s steps)
Meta’s Facebook app steps cover the whole process: payment, two-factor authentication, your name and picture, then your ID. On iPhone you pay through the Apple App Store; on Android, through Google Play.
iPhone & iPad
- Open the Facebook app and log into your profile.
- Tap Menu (top left), then Options.
- Tap Go to Meta Account, then Meta Verified.
- Select the profile you want to verify, then tap Single profile subscription (or Two-profile subscription).
- Tap Pay now, then confirm your payment through the Apple App Store.
- Continue with two-factor authentication, your name and picture, and your ID: see Fix 4.
Android
- Open the Facebook app and log into your profile.
- Tap Menu (top left), then Options.
- Tap Go to Meta Account, then Meta Verified.
- Select the profile you want to verify, then tap Single profile subscription (or Two-profile subscription).
- Tap Pay now, then confirm your payment through the Google Play Store.
- Continue with two-factor authentication, your name and picture, and your ID: see Fix 4.
Where you pay matters later: Meta says you must cancel where you signed up. See how to cancel Meta Verified.
Did it work? Your payment is confirmed and the next step (two-factor authentication) appears.
Did Fix 2 solve it?
Great, you fixed it with Fix 2. Tell us it worked, or bookmark this page in case it happens again.
Fix 3: Started on a computer? Finish in the Facebook app
Meta says you can start on a computer, but after you click Subscribe you need to finish subscribing in the Facebook mobile app.
Computer (browser)
- Log into Facebook on a computer and click your profile picture (top right).
- Click Settings & privacy, then Settings.
- Click Meta Account, then Meta Verified.
- Select the profile, then click Single profile subscription (or Two-profile subscription).
- Click Pay to get benefits, enter your payment information, then click Continue and Subscribe.
- Open the Facebook app on your phone and continue from the two-factor step: see Fix 4.
Did it work? You’ve finished all four parts in the app.
Did Fix 3 solve it?
Great, you fixed it with Fix 3. Tell us it worked, or bookmark this page in case it happens again.
Fix 4: Two-factor, name and picture, and your ID
After payment, Meta asks you to turn on two-factor authentication, confirm or edit your name and picture, and upload photos of your government-issued photo ID (front and back).
- Two-factor authentication: select a security method, tap Next, and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Name and picture: tap Confirm profile name and Confirm profile picture, or tap Edit profile name (then Update profile name) or Upload a new picture (then Edit > Update profile picture), then review your edits and tap Submit.
- ID: select the type of ID, tap Next, then Take photo of the front. Check it’s readable, tap Next, photograph the back, then tap Submit.
- Tap Finish to complete the verification process.
Meta says that after you’re verified, changing your profile name or picture may mean going through verification again, so get them right now. If you’re eligible, Meta may verify you using your activity across its products instead, such as how long you’ve had your name and how complete your profile is.
Did it work? You’ve tapped Finish and your application is submitted.
Did Fix 4 solve it?
Great, you fixed it with Fix 4. Tell us it worked, or bookmark this page in case it happens again.
Fix 5: In review? Wait for Meta’s update
Meta says it reviews your application and sends an update on your verification status within 3 business days. While it’s pending, you may not be able to update your profile name, username, category, location or date of birth.
- Don’t try to change those details during review: wait for Meta’s notification.
- Once approved, your profile is verified and you get access to Meta Verified benefits, including support.
- Turned down? Meta says you’re eligible for a refund if it couldn’t verify your identity; rejections for false information or because you’re not eligible don’t qualify. See Meta Verified refunds. Meta also has a page on troubleshooting verification issues, linked from its subscription page (external site, opens in a new tab).
Meta says only Meta Verified subscribers can use Meta Verified Support, and only after they’ve completed verification.
Did it work? You receive Meta’s update on your verification status.
Did Fix 5 solve it?
Great, you fixed it with Fix 5. Tell us it worked, or bookmark this page in case it happens again.
Fix 6: Add your Instagram (or Facebook) as a second profile
Meta lets you verify up to two eligible profiles (one Facebook and one Instagram) in the same Meta Account, and you may get a discounted bundle price.
iPhone & iPad
- In the Facebook app: Menu (top left) > Options > Go to Meta Account > Meta Verified.
- Tap Add a second profile, then Continue, and select the profile.
- Tap Pay now, confirm through the Apple App Store, then tap Finish.
Android
- In the Facebook app: Menu (top left) > Options > Go to Meta Account > Meta Verified.
- Tap Add a second profile, then Continue, and select the profile.
- Tap Pay now, confirm through the Google Play Store, then tap Finish.
Computer (browser)
- Profile picture (top right) > Settings & privacy > Settings > Meta Account > Meta Verified.
- Click Add a second profile, then Continue, and select the profile.
- Confirm your payment information, then click Continue and Subscribe.
Meta says both profiles must be added to the same Meta Account, and its overview (external site, opens in a new tab) adds that both may need similar names and pictures.
Did it work? Both profiles show under Meta Verified.

Great, you fixed it with Fix 6. Tell us it worked, or bookmark this page in case it happens again.
Meta Verified plans and what each includes
Meta offers four creator plans. It says plans, benefits and availability vary by region, app and account, and you see what’s available to you when you start subscribing. Prices aren’t listed on Meta’s help pages.
| Benefit | Standard | Plus | Premium | Max |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Verified badge, impersonation protection, search optimization, images on links, exclusive stickers | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Support | Chat or email | + prioritized | + request a phone call | + agent monitors your cases |
| Featured profile (public accounts) | — | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Links in Reels per month | — | 2 | 4 | 6* |
| Custom chat themes (Instagram and Messenger) | — | — | Yes | Yes |
| Content strategy call (one per profile every 6 months) | — | — | — | Yes |
*Meta’s benefits page (external site, opens in a new tab) lists 6 links in Reels per month for Max, but its overview page (external site, opens in a new tab) says 4. Check the number shown when you subscribe. Unused Reels links don’t carry over. Meta notes that chat support only works on mobile devices, not on a computer, and that Reels original credit is an Instagram-only trial.
How to know it worked
- You’ve completed all four parts and tapped Finish.
- Meta has sent an update on your verification status.
- Your profile shows the verified badge.
