Facebook Monetization “Not Yet Eligible”? How to Check Why and What to Do

To earn money from content, Meta says your Page or professional-mode profile must meet Facebook’s Partner Monetization Policies, and each program has its own criteria. When you don’t qualify yet, you’ll see Not yet eligible. Facebook shows each program’s criteria, and the Status section shows any monetization violations. This guide shows where to look on a phone and on a computer, and what to do with what you find.

Quick answer

On your phone: turn on professional mode if you use a profile, then open the Professional dashboard (now shown as Creator Dashboard or Business Dashboard) and tap Monetization. If you see Not yet eligible, tap each program to see the criteria you still need to meet. On a computer: go to Meta Business Suite > Monetization > Status > View Page eligibility. The Status section shows any monetization violations. Your Page or profile must meet Facebook’s Partner Monetization Policies. Nobody can buy or “unlock” eligibility for you.

Does this match what you see?

  • Monetization shows Not yet eligible.
  • A program you want is listed under Other monetization programs (not eligible yet).
  • The Status section lists monetization violations.
  • You can’t find Monetization in Meta Business Suite.
  • You don’t see a Professional dashboard on your profile.
  • You used to earn from In-Stream Ads or Ads on Reels and it stopped.

How to fix it, step by step

Work through these in order. They start with the quickest, safest checks and only move to steps that sign you out or remove data later.

Fix 1: Using a profile? Turn on professional mode

Safe & reversible2 miniPhone & iPadAndroidComputer (browser)

Meta says profiles must have professional mode turned on to check monetization eligibility in the Professional dashboard.

  1. Turn on professional mode for your profile using Meta’s steps: turn professional mode on (external site, opens in a new tab).
  2. Note: Meta says you can’t lock your profile while professional mode is on.
  3. Once it’s on, look for the Professional dashboard. Meta says it now appears as Creator Dashboard or Business Dashboard.

Did it work? You can open the Creator Dashboard (or Business Dashboard) from your profile.

Fix 2: Check eligibility on your phone

Safe & reversible2 miniPhone & iPadAndroid

Meta’s mobile route is the Professional dashboard.

  1. Open the Professional dashboard (shown as Creator Dashboard or Business Dashboard).
  2. Tap Monetization.
  3. Programs you can join show Ready to set up with a Set up button.
  4. If you’re not eligible, Not yet eligible appears above the list of programs.

Did it work? You can see which programs are ready and which aren’t.

Fix 3: “Not yet eligible”? Read each program’s criteria

Safe & reversible5 miniPhone & iPadAndroid

Meta says you can tap an individual program to see the criteria that must be met. That’s the most direct answer to “why am I not eligible”.

  1. In Monetization in the Professional dashboard, tap each program listed. (On a computer, Other monetization programs lists the ones you can’t join yet.)
  2. Note every criterion you don’t meet yet.
  3. Work on those criteria while following Facebook’s policies.
  4. Check back from time to time. When a program shows Ready to set up, tap Set up.

Criteria differ between programs and can change, so rely on what your own dashboard shows rather than numbers you read elsewhere.

Did it work? A program shows Ready to set up.

Fix 4: Check eligibility on a computer (Meta Business Suite)

Safe & reversible3 minComputer (browser)

Meta’s desktop route shows both your eligibility and any monetization violations.

Computer (browser)

  1. Go to Meta Business Suite (external site, opens in a new tab) on a computer.
  2. Click Monetization on the left. If it isn’t there, go to All tools and click Monetization below Sell products and services.
  3. In the Status section, check for any monetization violations.
  4. Click View Page eligibility. Programs you’re eligible for are at the top (Set up); Other monetization programs lists ones you can’t join yet.

Did it work? You can see your eligibility and any violations.

Fix 5: Monetization violations? Fix the cause

Safe & reversibleVariesiPhone & iPadAndroidComputer (browser)

Meta says your Page or profile must meet the Partner Monetization Policies to earn money from content, and the Status section shows violations.

  1. Read each violation listed in the Status section.
  2. Check Profile status for removed content and restrictions (how).
  3. Stop posting the kind of content that caused the violation, and review it against Facebook’s Partner Monetization Policies and Community Standards.
  4. If Facebook removed content you believe follows the rules, request a review (how). To appeal the monetization decision itself, see how to appeal.

Did it work? You’ve reviewed every violation listed in Status and dealt with its cause.

Lost monetization you already had? Why, and how to appeal

Meta says access to tools such as Stars, Subscriptions, branded content and Facebook content monetization can be restricted, temporarily or permanently, for breaking three sets of rules:

Meta’s demonetization rules
RulesWhat they coverWhat Meta says can happen
Community StandardsUnsafe content such as violence, hate or adult nudityAccess can be removed after a single violation
Partner Monetization PoliciesRules for Pages and profiles, payments and inauthentic behaviorConsistent violations can mean a temporary or permanent ban; you lose eligibility for the whole Page, profile or group
Content Monetization PoliciesUnnecessary graphic, sexual, violent or profane contentRepeated violations can mean a temporary or permanent ban; a violation removes monetization from that piece of content

Meta says it notifies you directly. Meta also says a demonetized video can be appealed only once, and that appeals are typically answered in seven days or less.

How to appeal on your phone (Pages and pro-mode profiles)

  1. Tap the monetization violation notification you received.
  2. On the Policy issues page, find the Restricted monetization alert and tap Request review.
  3. On the Appeals page, submit an appeal for the violations restricting your monetization.

How to appeal on a computer (Pages and groups)

  1. Go to Meta Business Suite and click Monetization in the left menu.
  2. Click Policy issues and select the Page or group.
  3. Click Request another review next to the decision you want to appeal.

Meta says Business Suite isn’t currently available to profiles in pro mode, so profiles should appeal from the phone. To appeal for a single piece of content under the Content Monetization Policies, Meta points to its Monetization Policies Appeal form (external site, opens in a new tab).

Used to earn from In-Stream Ads or Ads on Reels?

In 2025, Meta’s creator blog said creators needed to join Facebook Content Monetization by the end of August to keep earning from legacy programs such as In-Stream Ads, Ads on Reels and the Performance bonus. If your earnings from those stopped, check Monetization to see which programs you’re eligible for now.

How to know it worked

  • You know which programs you’re eligible for, and which criteria you still need.
  • You’ve reviewed any violations listed in Status.
  • Professional mode is on (for profiles).

Still not working? Your next steps

  1. If your Page itself is restricted, see how Pages are restricted.
  2. If your ad account is affected rather than monetization, see ad account disabled or restricted.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Facebook say I’m not yet eligible for monetization?

Either you haven’t met a program’s criteria yet, or there are monetization violations. Tap each program in Monetization to see its criteria, and check the Status section for violations.

Where do I check my Facebook monetization status?

On a phone, open the Professional dashboard (Creator Dashboard or Business Dashboard) and tap Monetization. On a computer, go to Meta Business Suite > Monetization > View Page eligibility.

Do I need professional mode to earn money on my profile?

Meta says you must have professional mode turned on to check eligibility in the Professional dashboard on a profile.

What happened to In-Stream Ads?

Meta’s creator blog said in 2025 that creators had to join Facebook Content Monetization to keep earning from legacy programs such as In-Stream Ads and Ads on Reels.

How do I appeal Facebook demonetization?

On your phone, tap the violation notification, then Request review on the Policy issues page. Pages and groups can also use Meta Business Suite > Monetization > Policy issues > Request another review. Meta says a demonetized video can be appealed once, and appeals are typically answered in seven days or less.

Can one violation remove my monetization?

Meta says access can be removed after a single Community Standards violation. For its Partner and Content Monetization Policies, it says consistent or repeated violations can lead to a temporary or permanent ban.

Can I pay someone to make my Page eligible?

No. Treat any such offer as a scam. Eligibility depends on meeting Facebook’s own criteria and policies.
