Quick answer
Brand invite: Public Profile > Settings > Pending Invitations > Accept Invite. Ad code: open your post > three dots > Partnership Ad Code > enable and copy. Paid Partnership: on Send To, pick a public option > three-dot menu > Add Paid Partnership > toggle on. A rejected ad can mean the post doesn’t meet Snap’s Advertising Policies, even if it was fine as a normal post.
What are you trying to do?
- Accept or leave a brand partner invite
- Share an ad code with a brand
- Label a post as a Paid Partnership
- Promote my Snap, or it won’t let me
- My ad or promoted Snap was rejected
- Get a refund for a promoted Snap
- Join the Monetization Program
- Set up payouts (Hyperwallet) or cash out
- Payout countries, age, taxes or a locked Payout Portal
- Hyperwallet email, Error 104, tax form or transfer problems
- Set up or manage Creator Subscriptions
Does this match what you see?
- A brand says it sent an invite, but you can’t find it.
- You can’t see an option to promote your Snap.
- Your promoted Snap or ad was rejected, though the post itself was approved.
- You want your money back for a promotion.

Why this happens: the possible causes
The usual reasons a creator tool isn’t working.
| Problem | Likely reason |
|---|---|
| Can’t find a brand invite | It’s under Pending Invitations in Public Profile Settings (steps) |
| Can’t promote a Snap | You need a Profile role and an admin or Campaign Manager role on the ad account (details) |
| Ad or promoted Snap rejected | It must meet the Advertising Policies as well as the Community Guidelines (details) |
| No Creator Subscriptions option | Invite-only while it rolls out (details) |
- Missing role on the ad accountCheck this first
Snapchat says promoting in-app needs a role on the Profile and an Account Admin, Campaign Manager or Organization/Business Admin role on the connected ad account.
- The post doesn’t meet the Advertising PoliciesCheck this first
Snapchat says organic posts follow the Community Guidelines, ads follow the Advertising Policies, and a post must meet both to become an approved ad.
- The feature isn’t available to you yetPossible
Snapchat says Creator Subscriptions are for select, invited creators, and ad codes are for eligible creators.
Try these 60-second checks first
- Our tip: for brand invites, ad codes and promotions, check you’re in your Public Profile, not your regular Profile.
- Our tip: update Snapchat to the latest version.
How to fix it, step by step
Work through these in order. They start with the quickest, safest checks and only move to steps that sign you out or remove data later.
Fix 1: Accept a Brand or Ad Partner invite (Pre-Approved Creator)
Snapchat says brands request one of two permissions. A Brand Partner can use a paid partnership tag with brands they’ve been added on to. An Ad Partner gives the brand access to use your profile in its ads, for example in a Sponsored Snap.
- Go to your Public Profile.
- Tap Settings at the top right.
- Go to Pending Invitations and tap Accept Invite.
Snapchat says you can remove yourself as a Brand or Ad Partner at any time in your profile settings. Sponsored Snaps: Snapchat says the brand must send your Public Profile an invite for the Pre-Approved Creator - Ad Partner permission; once you accept, you can work with the brand on ads that show your name and the brand’s name, a Sponsored Snap being one type.
Did it work? The invite no longer shows under Pending Invitations.
Did Fix 1 solve it?
Great, you fixed it with Fix 1. Tell us it worked, or bookmark this page in case it happens again.
Fix 2: Share an ad code with a brand partner
Snapchat says an ad code shares one piece of your content with a brand partner so it can run ads with your content and profile. The brand can’t edit the media, and you’re notified when an ad is created with your code.
- Open a post you’ve made (Spotlight, Stories or Saved Stories).
- Tap the three dots in the top right of the Snap.
- Tap Partnership Ad Code and enable it.
- Copy the ad code and send it to your brand partner.
Snapchat says ad codes are for eligible creators, and you can turn a code off at any time to stop future ads from running.
Did it work? The code is enabled and copied.
Did Fix 2 solve it?
Great, you fixed it with Fix 2. Tell us it worked, or bookmark this page in case it happens again.
Fix 3: Label sponsored content as a Paid Partnership
Snapchat says Snapchatters with a Public Profile can add a “Paid Partnership” label to public Snaps from the Send To screen.
- On the Send To screen, select a public option: Public Story, Spotlight or Snap Map.
- Tap the three-dot menu icon, then Add Paid Partnership.
- First time? Tap Continue to open the Add Paid Partnership page.
- Toggle Paid Partnership on, then post.
Snap Stars can also tag the brand: in the Send To flow, search for a new or existing brand partner. Snapchat says new partnership requests go to the brand after the content is published, and once approved, the brand gets that content’s performance data and can boost it.
Did it work? Your post shows the Paid Partnership label.
Did Fix 3 solve it?
Great, you fixed it with Fix 3. Tell us it worked, or bookmark this page in case it happens again.
Fix 4: Promote a Snap in the app
Snapchat says you can promote your Public Story, Saved Story or Spotlight content with ads, directly in the mobile app.
- Check your roles: Snapchat says you need a role on the Profile and to be an Account Admin, Campaign Manager or Organization/Business Admin on the connected ad account.
- Follow Snapchat’s in-app promote steps on Snapchat Business Help (external site, opens in a new tab).
Our tip: if you don’t see the option to promote, ask whoever manages the ad account to check your role. Snapchat explains roles in Public Profile roles and permissions (external site, opens in a new tab).
Did it work? Your promotion goes to review.
Did Fix 4 solve it?
Great, you fixed it with Fix 4. Tell us it worked, or bookmark this page in case it happens again.
Why your ad or promoted Snap was rejected
Snapchat says every ad goes to review against its Advertising Policies (external site, opens in a new tab). An approved Story or Spotlight post isn’t automatically eligible to be an ad, because Snap has two sets of rules: organic posts follow the Community Guidelines (external site, opens in a new tab), and ads follow the Advertising Policies. To become an approved ad, a post has to meet both.
Our tip: read the Advertising Policies before you promote, then try again with a post that clearly meets them.
Get a refund for a promoted Snap
- Paid on iPhone or iPad: Snapchat says to request it from Apple. Apple’s steps: sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com, tap I’d like to > Request a refund, choose a reason, tap Next, select the purchase, then Submit. Apple says to expect an update within about 24 to 48 hours (Apple Support (external site, opens in a new tab)).
- Paid on Android: Snapchat says to contact its Business Support team (external site, opens in a new tab).
Join the Monetization Program (earn from ads in Stories and Spotlight)
Snapchat says its Monetization Program shares ad revenue with established creators: ads run between Snaps in your Public Story or within your Spotlights. It’s invite-only: Snapchat reviews creators and emails you at your account’s address if you’re invited, so keep your details up to date.
What Snapchat looks for
- Audience: at least 50,000 followers, and 15,000 hours of view time in the last 28 days, with at least 3,000 hours from Spotlight.
- Compliance: at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live); original, advertiser-friendly content that follows the Community Guidelines (external site, opens in a new tab) and Content Guidelines for Recommendation Eligibility (external site, opens in a new tab); live in an eligible country; be a Snap Star; and follow the Monetization Terms (external site, opens in a new tab) and Creator Monetization Policy (external site, opens in a new tab).
Staying eligible and earning more
- Since May 7, 2026: Snapchat says you need at least 100 hours of Total Spotlight View Time in the last 28 days for maximum Creator Rewards. Check it under Daily Rewards Eligibility at the top of Insights.
- Spotlight length: Snapchat says Spotlight videos must be at least 30 seconds to earn revenue, and ads are served mainly by how long people watch.
- Snapchat’s tips: longer, engaging Stories and Spotlights; replies to connect with fans; dynamic motion and bright colors in the first Snap; closed captions.
- Cash out: a minimum of $100, as often as daily, once you’re onboarded for payouts (see get paid).
Get paid: set up the Payout Portal (Hyperwallet) and cash out
1. Apply in the app
Tap My Creator Rewards in your Profile to open the Creator Rewards Hub, then enter your contact information: first and last name (no special characters), email, state and country, phone number and birthdate. Snapchat says your name must match your full legal name on your tax documents or government ID, and the details must be accurate: you can’t edit them in your Profile after submitting. If you’re under the legal age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must consent before you can be paid. Your page then says “Your Snapchat Payout Portal application is in review.”
2. Activate with Hyperwallet
- Snapchat says an email from its payout partner Hyperwallet ([email protected] or [email protected]) explains how to activate. It may take several weeks to arrive.
- Tap Activate in the email. On an Apple device, Snapchat says to set your appearance to light.
- Enter your Access Code. Snapchat says it appears in My Creator Rewards within 48 hours of receiving the email. Code showing but no email? Check Junk or Spam and try resending.
- Finish your personal and business details, including taxpayer verification, which can take up to 2 weeks. Snapchat says these details must match what you entered in Snapchat, or the application will be rejected.
3. Cash out
- New rewards show in All Activity as Pending, and Snapchat says they become Available 14 days later. Reward notifications can take several hours.
- Tap Cash Out to move all available rewards to your Payout Portal in USD. Snapchat says you need at least $100 USD, and it typically takes another 14 days or longer to arrive.
- Then withdraw from the Payout Portal by a method such as bank account or PayPal. Snapchat says the payment provider charges transaction fees depending on the method and any currency conversion (see Snapchat’s transaction fees (external site, opens in a new tab) and the Hyperwallet FAQ (external site, opens in a new tab)).
- Our tip: don’t leave it too long. Snapchat says that if you’re following its rules, it will automatically cash out your Available Balance if it hasn’t changed for one year or hasn’t been cashed out for two years, as long as it’s at least $100 USD. Accounts not in good standing, or that don’t meet the requirements, are no longer eligible for payment after one or two years (as applicable) from the first reward.
- Snapchat says rewards depend on following its Community Guidelines, Spotlight Guidelines and terms; breaking them may cancel pending or available rewards.
Creator Rewards: who can get paid, taxes and fixing payout problems
- Age: Snapchat says you must have reached the legal age of majority where you live, or be at least 16 with a parent’s or legal guardian’s consent. Our note: Hyperwallet’s own FAQ lists 18+ for its Pay Portal, so if you’re under 18, check with Snapchat support during onboarding.
- What Creator Rewards are: Snapchat says they track payment-eligible activity, such as ads within your Public Stories and Spotlights, for Monetization Program creators and eligible Snap Stars (they replace the old Crystals), are shown in My Creator Rewards in your Profile, and can be cashed out there. They aren’t property and can’t be transferred, sold or bought.
- Notifications off? Check for pending rewards any time in your Profile > My Creator Rewards.
- Use your legal name: Snapchat says use the name on your birth certificate (or Social Security card in the US). You can’t edit your Contact Information in your Profile after submitting, and wrong details can delay payments; contact Snapchat support if there’s a problem.
- Entered wrong details in Hyperwallet, or your Payout Portal is locked? Snapchat says the portal may lock after incorrect login details, and to contact Hyperwallet support (external site, opens in a new tab) in either case.
- Taxes: Snapchat says you need a valid W-9 (US) or W-8 (international) form to onboard. Tax forms for payments made in a year (such as Form 1099 in the US) are under Resources > Tax Documents in your Payout Portal, issued by IRS deadlines (usually January or February). Stuck on a W-8BEN or W-8BEN-E? Snapchat has step-by-step instructions (external site, opens in a new tab) in English, Arabic, Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Norwegian, Spanish and Swedish. More in the Spotlight Terms (external site, opens in a new tab). Our note: we can’t give tax advice; ask a tax professional where you live.
- One account only: Snapchat says it pays into a single Payout Portal account and login, so payments can’t be shared. If you already have a Payout Portal from Spotlight payouts, use the same one. Snapchat says older Spotlight payouts aren’t affected: they show in USD in All Activity and move to your Payout Portal automatically when ready, with no cash out needed.
- Time limit: Snapchat says to request payment within two years of receiving rewards or one year of your most recent award; otherwise it pays out to your Payout Portal, as long as you’ve met the $100 minimum, supplied all the required information, activated your Payout Portal, followed its rules and are in good standing. If not, you lose eligibility after that period.
- Don’t want payouts? Snapchat says simply don’t complete the onboarding.
Hyperwallet Payout Portal problems: emails, Error 104, tax forms and transfers
These answers come from Hyperwallet’s own support FAQ for the Snapchat Payout Portal. If you can’t edit your profile, address or W-9 details yourself, Hyperwallet says to contact Snap.
- No activation email? Hyperwallet says to search your inbox and spam for [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected], and add them to your contacts. The activation email’s subject is “Activate Hyperwallet Account”. If Snap says your first payment was sent but no activation email came, use the “not received activation email” link on Hyperwallet’s support page.
- Login codes not arriving? Pick a different verification method (phone or email). Hyperwallet says to avoid VoIP numbers such as Google Voice or TextNow, and to enter phone numbers as + country code and number with no spaces or dashes (for example +14151234567).
- “Error 104”: Hyperwallet says it’s a security block that can happen the first time you use a network, after several wrong passwords, or on locked networks like public Wi-Fi. Have your IP address ready and contact Hyperwallet support. If you can’t sign in at all, Hyperwallet says phone is the only support channel.
- Forgot your password? Use Forgot Your Password? on the Pay Portal login page; you may need an extra identity check. Hyperwallet says if you just requested an email, wait 5–10 minutes before trying again.
- Identity and address checks: Hyperwallet may ask for ID (passport, driver’s license or national ID) and proof of address dated within 12 months. Your profile name must be your legal name (no nicknames) and the address must match exactly. Files must be under 4MB. Hyperwallet says checks take up to 2 business days if your documents meet its requirements.
- W-8BEN / W-8BEN-E upload rules: Hyperwallet says to sign by hand (no digital signatures), upload within 5 days of the signature date, scan every page, and use one PDF, TIFF, JPG or PNG under 4MB with a filename of 30 characters or fewer. Review takes up to 7 business days.
- W-9 failed (US)? Hyperwallet lists: your name doesn’t match IRS records (add any middle name or initial in the First Name field, after a space), your SSN is wrong or has spaces or dashes (use 9 digits), a new EIN (under 4 weeks old), IRS downtime, or too many attempts.
- Form 1099 (US): as of November 6, 2026, Hyperwallet’s FAQ says you’re eligible for one if your payouts reach $600 in the tax year and your W-9 was in good standing before December 31; if you hit the threshold but sent your W-9 late, it says to contact Snap. Find it under Resources > Tax Documents. Our note: the IRS says (external site, opens in a new tab) the reporting threshold for payments made in 2026 is $2,000, so Hyperwallet’s $600 figure may be out of date. Income can be taxable even without a 1099; ask a tax professional.
- Moving country? Hyperwallet says you can’t change your account to a different country; you’d close it and open a new one.
- Transfers: to PayPal (usually within 30 minutes; accept within 30 days if the currency differs), Venmo (US only), or a bank account in your country (up to 3 business days). Which methods you can use depends on your country and currency: check Transfer > Add New Transfer Method. Hyperwallet says a transfer fee may apply, and for wire transfers the receiving bank may deduct its own fees. For Venmo, it warns that transfers to the wrong account can’t be cancelled or reversed. You can also set Auto Transfer.
Creator Subscriptions: who gets them and how they work
Creator Subscriptions let select creators offer a paid monthly subscription. Snapchat says subscribers pay through their device’s app store to unlock benefits you set up and deliver.
- Who can offer them: Snapchat says the feature is still rolling out and is invite-only. If you’re invited, Snapchat emails you with next steps, including set-up information. Snapchat says there’s no waitlist for now, but it may open other ways to join or apply over time.
- Benefits you can offer: Direct Snaps to subscribers (they appear in Chat), subscriber-only Story content, Priority Story Replies with a Subscriber badge, and badges or other perks. The app shows which you can offer.
- Manage it: in My Account, open My Subscription to see new, total and returning subscribers; share your subscription link and stickers; post to your subscription Story; review mass Snaps and replies; and open blocked or muted subscriber lists (these work with your Blocked Users settings).
- Getting paid: Snapchat says earnings use the same cash-out path as its other creator programs, including Hyperwallet, and show in your Creator Rewards Hub labeled Creator Subscriptions.
How to know it worked
