Quick answer
If your Page has the limit, Meta says you can include links in 2 organic posts or comments per month. It resets on the 1st of each month (or on your Meta One renewal date), and unused ones don’t carry over. Links to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads, links in ads, affiliate-partner links and extra links in the comments of a post that already has a link don’t count.
Does this match what you see?
- You think your Page has hit a limit on posts with links.
- You’re not sure which links count toward the limit.

- Wait for the reset: Meta says the default limit resets on the 1st of each month. With a Meta One plan, it resets on your subscription renewal date.
- Unused link posts or comments don’t transfer to the next month.
- Our tip: save your two links for your most important posts, and use the exemptions below for the rest.
Did it work? Our check: after the reset, you can add a link again.

Links that don’t count toward the limit
Meta says these links don’t count:
- Extra links in the comments of a post where you’ve already included a link.
- Links to Meta technologies, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads.
- Links for affiliate partners connected through Facebook’s affiliate partnerships.
- Links in ads.
Meta says links in organic posts and comments you publish on your Page are what count. Our tip: Meta says links in ads don’t count, so a paid ad is an option for extra links. Boosting a post you’ve already published won’t give back a link you’ve used, because the original post was organic. Ads cost money.
What you can do with a link post
Meta says that when you include a link in an organic Page post or comment, you can choose your own link preview image from your camera roll, and add a call-to-action button that sends people to a destination you choose.
More links with Meta One
Meta says Meta One Advanced, Expert or Max plans raise the limit. Its table:
- Free (no subscription): 2 posts or comments with links a month
- Essential (USD $14.99/mo): 2
- Advanced (USD $49.99/mo): 8
- Expert (USD $149.99/mo): 20
- Max (USD $499.99/mo): unlimited
Meta says prices are shown in USD and may vary by region. Our note: the Essential plan doesn’t add any extra links, so check what you need before you subscribe.
How to know it worked
- Our check: your link posts stay within the limit, or the limit has reset.
