Why this happens: the possible causes
How you bought Premium decides where you cancel.
| Bought via | Cancel in |
|---|---|
| LinkedIn (desktop or mobile web) | LinkedIn desktop site, or the LinkedIn app on Android |
| LinkedIn mobile web on an iPhone | LinkedIn desktop (not the iOS app) |
| Apple App Store | The LinkedIn app on an Apple device |
| Google Play | LinkedIn desktop, the LinkedIn app, or Google Play |

How to fix it, step by step
Work through these in order. They start with the quickest, safest checks and only move to steps that sign you out or remove data later.
Fix 1: Cancel Premium bought directly from LinkedIn
LinkedIn says Premium bought directly through LinkedIn can only be cancelled on the LinkedIn desktop website or in the LinkedIn app on an Android device.
Android
- Use the LinkedIn app on your Android device to cancel, as LinkedIn says this is supported for direct purchases.
Computer (browser)
- Click the Me icon and select Premium features.
- Under Plan Details, click Manage subscription; you’ll go to LinkedIn Admin Center.
- Click Purchases, select your Active subscription, then Cancel subscription under Actions.
- Click Confirm cancel.
Bought on an iPhone through the mobile website? LinkedIn says it processed the payment, and you need to cancel on LinkedIn desktop, because cancelling isn’t available in the iOS app. Can’t sign in? In some places, including Germany and the United States, LinkedIn says you can cancel without signing in (external site, opens in a new tab). Want it to end now? LinkedIn says you can schedule cancellation for the next billing date, or contact customer support for immediate cancellation (LinkedIn’s billing support form (external site, opens in a new tab)).
Did it work? Our tip: check your subscription now shows as cancelled, with an end date.

Fix 2: Cancel Premium bought via Apple or Google Play
LinkedIn says store purchases are cancelled differently.
iPhone & iPad
- Apple App Store: cancel in the LinkedIn app on an Apple device (LinkedIn’s steps (external site, opens in a new tab)).
Android
- Google Play: cancel on the LinkedIn desktop site, in the LinkedIn app, on Google Play desktop, or in the Google Play app (LinkedIn’s steps (external site, opens in a new tab)).
Computer (browser)
- Bought through Google Play? You can cancel on the LinkedIn desktop site or on Google Play on desktop (LinkedIn’s steps (external site, opens in a new tab)). Bought through Apple? Use the LinkedIn app on an Apple device.
LinkedIn says it can’t provide billing support for Apple purchases: contact Apple for payment questions and refunds.
Did it work? Our tip: check it shows as cancelled in the LinkedIn app or store where you cancelled.
Did Fix 2 solve it?

Cancelling a free trial
- LinkedIn says cancelling a free trial ends it immediately, and you lose Premium access right away.
- You won’t be eligible for another free trial for at least 12 months.
- LinkedIn says it emails a reminder to your primary email before a free trial ends for subscriptions bought on the LinkedIn desktop site.
- Missed the cancellation and got charged? See the refund rules.
Refunds
LinkedIn says Premium subscriptions (including Premium Career, Business, All-in-One, LinkedIn Learning, Recruiter Lite and Sales Navigator) may be refundable within seven days of the date you were charged, if you haven’t used Premium. See LinkedIn’s refund policy (external site, opens in a new tab) and contact customer support (external site, opens in a new tab) about billing issues.
Bought through Apple? LinkedIn says to contact Apple for refunds.
What happens after you cancel
LinkedIn says you go back to a Basic (free) account and keep your profile, connections and other data. At the end of the billing cycle you lose Premium features, including:
- InMail credits you’ve built up, which can’t be credited back.
- The full Who’s viewed your profile list and viewer details.
- Extra insights on job postings and LinkedIn Pages, and access to LinkedIn Learning.
- Unlimited people browsing (you may hit the commercial use limit).
- The Premium badge, advanced search filters and competitive insights.
Payment method: LinkedIn says you can delete it after cancelling, once the billing cycle ends, but not while a paid subscription is active.
Downgrade instead of cancelling
LinkedIn says you can switch to a cheaper plan on the desktop website only, if you have Premium Business, Sales Navigator Core or Sales Navigator Advanced (with a single active seat). Note that downgrading during a promotion forfeits the promotion.
Premium plans and billing
- Plans: Premium Career, Premium Business, Premium All-in-One, Sales Navigator, Recruiter Lite, Premium Company Page and LinkedIn Learning.
- Billing: monthly, quarterly or annual, renewing at the end of each cycle. LinkedIn says quarterly billing is rolling out gradually.
- Manage: the My Premium page shows your subscription status, InMail credits and insights. Update cards under Manage Payment Methods in your Premium subscription settings.
- Open Profile: lets anyone on LinkedIn message a Premium member for free.
How to know it worked
- Our tip: your subscription should show as cancelled with an end date.
